Education, awareness & Campaign

By the core functional program- Education, Awareness & Campaign, EDAS ensures pre-primary and primary education including Early Care and Childhood Development (ECCD) opportunity of about 15000 underprivileged children every year in 88 EDAS Schools with 1209 teaching and supporting staff. EDAS provides text books, supported by GoB to all EDAS schools’ children, access to free education to 183 physically challenged children, stipend and scholarship support to 30% children every year, free education with dress, bags, education materials etc. to the poor and distressed community children. EDAS secures survival of orphans, street children and displaced Rohingya refugee children. EDAS is operating 10 Day care and 04 orphanage centers in Rohingya Refugee Camps of Cox’s Bazar in where about 5000 Rohingya refugee children and 2000 Rohingya orphan children have access to food, cloth, shelter, medicine, education and amusement opportunity. As a mechanism for a conscious human driven society, EDAS organizes awareness raising events under the operational framework of Awareness & Campaign Program. EDAS has developed a social communication network in 7 districts. With the participation of targeted community people, EDAS accomplishes awareness raising activities addressing issues on illiteracy, children with disabilities, underage marriage, environment & climate change issues, hazardous child labour, human trafficking, nutrition deficiency, gender disparity, sanitation and hygiene. EDAS carries out voice against discrimination, deprivation, exploitation, poverty, injustice, superstition for securing survival of the distressed and initiates issue based awareness raising activities reaching 10 million people through campaign events organizing.
